Dyson DC50 Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson DC50 Animal Compact Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Price:$499.00

Product Description

DC50 Animal is Dyson’s lightest upright vacuum. It weighs just 11.6 lbs. but performs like a full-size upright. The technology inside has not simply been shrunk, but concentrated with every angle and dimension re-engineered.

Four key technologies combine to give DC50 Animal Dyson’s most advanced cleaner head to date. The cleaner head self-adjusts for optimal contact on every floor type. The brush bar has a mixture of stiff nylon bristles and carbon fiber filaments. On carpets, the nylon bristles remove ground-in dirt, and on hard floors the ultra-fine carbon fiber filaments remove fine dust. Like all Dyson vacuums, DC50 Animal has no bag, so there’s no loss of suction. Instead, patented cyclone technology spins dust, dirt and pet hair from the air. With 2 Tier Radial cyclones, DC50 Animal has 19 cyclones that work in parallel across two tiers to capture microscopic particles from the airflow.

DC50 Animal has Dyson’s latest Ball technology. Even more of the machine’s key components are located inside the ball itself. This reduces clutter on the outside of the machine, streamlining its profile for better maneuverability. DC50 Animal comes with the Tangle-free Turbine tool, the only turbine tool that doesn’t tangle. Counter-rotating heads with brushes remove hair from carpets and upholstery. So there’s no brush bar for hair to wrap around.
Patented Dyson Technology
Dyson engineers are constantly testing and inventing, trying to find new ways to make their technology work better. As they work, they file patent applications to protect their inventions from copycat manufacturers. That’s why the only place you’ll find Dyson technology is inside a Dyson machine.

Ball technology to help you steer with ease Dyson Ball upright vacuum cleaners use patented Ball technology to overcome the steering limitations of fixed wheels. They ride on a ball, which turns on the spot so you can steer with ease. DC50 Animal has Dyson’s latest Ball technology. Even more of the machine’s key components are located inside the ball itself. This reduces clutter on the outside of the machine for even easier steering into difficult places. The ball itself is made of ABS and polycarbonate, the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. It combines high impact strength with resistance to distortion. The ball also holds the heaviest component (the motor), positioned towards the base for a lower center of gravity and greater stability.

New 2 Tier Radial cyclones Ordinary vacuum cleaners rely on bags to trap dust and dirt. The more that you use them, the tiny holes in the bag clog with particles of dust. Then the air flow is restricted, so the vacuum cleaner loses suction over time. Dyson vacuums do not rely on bags to trap dust and dirt. Instead, Dyson uses Cyclone technology, spinning the air at incredibly high speeds. Dust, dirt, and pet hair are flung out of the airflow and straight into the bin. There's no bag. No loss of suction. Dyson has continually refined cyclone technology since it's invention 20 years ago. The DC50 is the first Dyson upright vacuum to feature a double stack of cyclones. 19 inner cyclones arranged across 2 tiers work in parallel to increase airflow and separate more microscopic dust. The cyclones are Dyson's smallest to due, and their reduced size creates high centrifugal forces to separate fine dust from the airflow.
DC50 Animal Technology
Advanced cleaner head technology Many upright vacuum cleaners use fixed settings and their cleaner heads don’t self-adjust to different floor types. And the bigger the gap between cleaner head and floor, the more suction power is wasted. The DC50 cleaner head has been engineered for increased dirt pick-up on all floors. Four key technologies combine to make it Dyson’s most advanced cleaner head technology to date.
  • Carbon fiber brush bar: DC50 is the first Dyson upright vacuum cleaner to have carbon fiber brush bar technology. The brush bar has a mixture of stiff nylon bristles and anti-static carbon fiber filaments. On carpets the nylon bristles remove ground-in dirt. On hard floors the ultra-fine carbon fiber filaments remove fine dust.
  • Self-adjusting base plate: The cleaner head features a base plate which automatically raises and lowers across different floor types, retaining more suction at the cleaner head. No fiddly dials or bending down to make adjustments.
  • Optimal contact brush bar: This is Dyson’s first upright vacuum without rug strips on the cleaner head. This ensures the brush bar has full coverage of the surface it’s cleaning, and eradicates grooming stripes on carpets.
  • In-line drive: The motor has been engineered to sit inside the brush bar itself, so there are no energy losses due to the belt flexing and slipping.

  • Features

Tangle-free Turbine tool: The only turbine tool that doesn’t tangle. Counter-rotating heads with brushes remove hair and dirt. A clean air turbine provides the flexible heads with constant power over uneven surfaces. There’s no brush bar for hair to wrap around, it’s released straight into the bin.

Extra tools: DC50 Animal comes with a combination tool and a stair tool. The combination tool reaches further and has softer bristles for improved spot cleaning and gentle dusting. The stair tool removes dirt and dust from corners and against vertical edges of stairs.

Quick release wand: DC50 Animal has a quick release, long reach wand for cleaning stairs and awkward areas. The wand releases and retracts in a single action and the handle collapses into the hose after use. There are no separate parts to assemble.

Captures allergens, expels cleaner air: Dyson cyclones capture microscopic particles including pollen, mold and bacteria.

  • Clear bin lets you see when it needs emptying: The bin on a Dyson vacuum cleaner is transparent so you can see when it needs emptying, and just how much dust, dirt and pet hair your new Dyson machine has picked up.

No extra costs: Some vacuum cleaners are still designed to need replacement bags and filters and the cost soon adds up. Dyson vacuum cleaners don’t need bags, so there are no extra costs to worry about.

5 year warranty, parts and labor: Your Dyson vacuum cleaner is likely to take a few hits during everyday use, but that’s nothing compared to what Dyson puts its machines through during testing and development. All Dyson vacuum cleaners undergo a lengthy and rigorous testing process. That’s why DC50 Animal comes with a 5 year warranty, parts and labor.
